You get what you pay for
It works ok so long as it is not connected to the start up drive. Without an SATA II drive attached to the mobo my system wouldn't recognize the attached drive. It would have been nice if the cable included was longer. Unlike a typical IDE port this one is at the back of the Mobo connected to the PCIe slot and the cable is too short.

Great product!!
Used this with a board that had no IDE headers. Installed it & plugged in the drive, no software needed for the board, BIOS found it right away.

Moved backup drive from old computer to new one
New computer only has SATA inputs. This card works fine in my new computer. There are no instructions so plug it into mother board without your drive cable plugged into it and start your computer. When Windows installs it, turn the computer off and plug your drive, etc. cable into the card and restart the computer. Windows will find and install the drive. Don't try to install it all in one step. Windows doesn't like that.

Good Adapter,
Does what it's supposed to do, but instructions to get it running were sketchy. I'm using this to adapt my SATA-only motherboard to work with my old IDE hard drive. Works okay, with acceptable data rates and no hiccups so far. Unfortunately this adapter didn't come with recommendations about the required master slave HD jumper settings. Turns out, that if you leave the master slave jumper off the old IDE HD, the adapter will work properly. Success through trial and error with Windows 7 64b. Also, this product has an unattractive splash screen that displays during system boot for about 5 secs that I haven't yet been able to disable.

Outstanding
I used this in an upgrade from an old ECS MB, AMD Athlon XP, with IDE drives. Trying to get the best for the least, not haveing to buy all new drives, Igot this card. The instructions that came with it were not the greatest on telling you what to expect when building a mostly new upgrade. However, once I figured out the process it works great, and saved to cost of all new drives.

It works!
I have used the product for 6 weeks now. No problem installing. The transfer data rate for me is disappointing. Playing video from a hard drive attached to this card is jerky and music is broken.
