Good for a temporary drive hookup
This asembly works well to hookup a bare drive without needing to open your case. It does not have an eSATA connector.

Not external SATA (Not eSATA)
Description says, ''adds external support to any SATA controller.'' That implies ''external SATA'' (eSATA), but it is NOT. the port is an INTERNAL SATA port mounted on the back plate. I will keep it because I am a computer tech and can still make use of it. However, the average person would be stuck without a use because you canNOT plug in ''external SATA'' devices. You can only 'externally' connect ''internal SATA'' devices. That is also funny, because the power connector is Molex and Not a SATA power connector. Which means you would need an adapter to actually power the externally connected device.

Perfect!!!
Great little add on to give you external power and a sata port to hook up an extra hard drive! Work well with add on sata pci or pcie cards as well!
