Works as advertised
Be prepared to work with small screws and find a piece of foam to shim out the far end of your hard drive so it doesn't rattle or unplug. But these are reasonable expectations for someone working with a device like this. It worked just fine for my purpose. Yes, it requires two USB ports to provide enough juice for whatever drive you stick in. The alternative would be to limit what hard drives would work with it, which nobody wants.

performs as expected
included screwdriver secures the intended cap poorly - it's small, so applicable torque is limited for initial screw installation - have a real phillips screwdriver for this task. the drive can rattle somewhat within the enclosure (when shaken), but could easily be remedied with some foam or even folded paper. no complaints otherwise - black aluminum enclosure dissipates heat appropriately, and appears very durable. connection to hdd was easy and appears secure. upgrading is always a possibility, and the current drive will work with my sata drive dock at such time. sata-usb2 interface bandwidth is more than adequate for any platter drive currently available. why anyone would pay more for this function is beyond me.

Not bad
Gotta say, I had my doubts about this product. From all of the other reviews I saw, it didn't sound great. But this is a really great deal for the money. Even though the case is made out of plastic it keeps the hard drive safe and cool. If it were made out of metal, it would be much nicer but you get what you pay for.

DANGER Will Robinson!!!
Works well can't argue that but the way the drive secures to the enclosure is a little cheesey. The front and the back plate are removable, the front just being a plastic cover and the back being part of the circuit board. I stupidly pushed the drive in from the front and the circuit board popped out the bottom with my HD attached hit a tile floor from 4'. End of hard drive all data lost, fortunally my Cheap $10 board still works fine!

Quality comes up short
Screw holes are not tapped. Need to force screws into plastic with a tiny screw driver. Hard drive fits very loose into case (rattles). Quality not so good. Cable is nice and long (about 3 feet). Good (not great) buy for the money.
