Not so good for me

I purchased the X-pro because it was highly recommended on your web site when I purchased my toshiba laptop. I was disappointed about the limited items that it was meant to work with when it arrived, ie no cel phones and then I tried the product on my other laptops, it would not operate correctly or at all. I returned the item.

Even though I checked the compatibility before I made the purchase, it did not work on my dell laptop. Had to return.

Incompatible

I knew my laptop, a Toshiba A135-S4677, was not on the compatibility list. However, there were a ton of Toshibas, so I called Ultra customer service, and they all-but-guaranteed it would work. Had I bought it directly from them ($20 more), they would've put a 3-day guarantee on it. However, since I was trying to save $20 by buying it from this site, I opted to buy it from them. In the end, it didn't work, and I lost $20 in shipping due to the return policy, but, hey, at least they took it back, I guess. Would not recommend buying unless your laptop is on that compatibility list.

Better than what it replaces

For the most part, I find this better than the OEM adapter that came with my Gateway laptop. On the OEM, the cable between the brick and the computer became frayed. On this unit, that cable is much heftier and looks like it should outlast the laptop and possibly the laptop's replacement (whenever that might be). Other bonus is that the cable that goes from the wall outlet to the brick has the same connector on the brick end as with the OEM cable which means I can leave one at work and one at home and don't have to carry one with the computer. Only negative I see is that the connector on the computer side is not a 90 degree connector like the OEM was and with the different tips can get rather long.

Good work shop tool device

It may not be Universal but it does fit most of the major brands. Well made. came with a bag you can keep everything in. Allowed me to whittle my pile of adapters down. Although it is well made and works, it isn't a substitute for a product specific power adapter. I use it for repairing laptops in a shop.

Works as Advertised

This power supply does what it is supposed to do, as advertised. I do like the interchangeable tips, and the adjustable voltage feature. This should outlast my laptop, and will be useable on future laptops as well. The one feature that I do NOT like is that the interchangeable tip you actually use is plugged into a tip already on the power cord. That makes the assembled tip even longer than the original. It sticks out almost four inches and is susceptible to bending and eventually, breaking.
