I have had a Garmin since the first e-map series. This is my 3rd GPS device. I have always struggled with mounting GPS unites. I travel full time and see a lot of rental cars so a permanent mount is not possible. I have favored friction mounts since suction cup mounts fall off in cold or changing temperature conditions. My previous friction mount would fly off the dash during sharp turns. This unit has not moved once. If you have a GPS, get this mount. You will not regret it.
Works!

Stays put on the dash. My dash is uneven having a ridge running from left to right, creating two levels. The friction mount stays put. Also, like the fact that this puts my GPS unit closer to me for easier viewing. Easily movable to stow out of site when parking. Great product!
Does the job, compact size

Got tired of window mount falling and unit hitting the dash. Bought the friction mount and it worked perfect. Did not move an inch. Does leave an oily area on dash but it wipes right up. Is alittle expensive for rubber and plastic.
Great, but Pricey

This is a great moveable mount, but at $29.99 it seems pricey.

GPS Terms You Should

GPS - Global Positioning System (Device) - Is a device that works
with the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) developed by the US
Dept. of Defense. It is the only fully functional GNSS in the world,
and uses a constellation of between 24 and 32 Medium Earth Orbit
satellites that transmit precise signals allowing GPS receivers to
determine their current location, the exact time, and their velocity.
Also known as a Personal Navigation Device, Navigational System, GPS Receiver,

location within the GPS Device, either pre-defined, or that can be
end-user entered. Usually these are accessed to speed setting a

Trilateration - This is how a GPS device knows its
location. It uses three GPS satellites to trilaterate its
position. GPS units operate on a common clocking system to use
the variation in radio-frequency signal arrival time to calculate
their position.
Automotive GPS - A GPS Receiver typically
used in a car or truck. Depending on the design, can also be
used on motorcycles, boats, or as a hand-held GPS, but is not designed
specifically for these uses.

purpose.
