I am running this Mobo and it is great. there is only one issue that i ran into though. DONT use the driver disk that is supplied if you are running Vista or Windows 7. i am running XP Pro, Vista ultimate and 7 Pro. I used the supplied disk to install the drivers for XP and it runs great BUT had to reinstall Vista and 7 without the driver disk and it runs great now. I got the blue screen of death using the supplied disk with Vista and 7. I can play CoDWaW and City of Heroes on all three OS's with NO issues now. im running (E145-0283)EVGA GeForce GTX 2GB PCIe, (A79-0965) AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition AM3 CPU and (C13-8248) Corsair 4GB DDR3 PC12800 1600MHz (2x2GB) Class 8 x2. I gave it a 3 on value because like most things right now i believe it is a little over priced BUT i would buy it again at this price if i had to do it over.

Very pleased

Great mobo, but there's this little problem

This is an excellent piece of work, heavy duty quality. Performance is excellent. The chipsets are fanless, but with massive heatsinks. I would make sure that I had at least two case fans. The little problem is that the sata ports all face sideways in the lower right corner, right where most of todays midtower cases have a harddrive bay. I was able to move my drive bay by drilling a few new holes, but not every case will let you do that. So before you put your money down, take a close look at how your mobo and case choices are going to work together.

Great Quality! I also using all the 10 SATA ports!! Gigabyte also provides excellent support for their products. I'm originally an ASUS-only user but this product definitely reflects Gigabyte's huge commitment to quality and perfection. My memory runs stable and zippy at 1333Mhz with very low latency settings.

Hey Chuck, it appears you DONT have this mobo and only expressing the cost difference in this and an Asus. I USED to be an Asus fan til I found Gigabyte. Gigabyte mobos are FAR superior than Asus. Go and pay $40 less for an Asus but you'll regret you didn't buy THIS board!! THIS BOARD ROCKS..IGNORE CHUCKS LAME COMMENT

What You Should Know

Before you buy - make sure your motherboard is compatible with this memory. For example, DDR Memory won't work with motherboards designed for only DDR2, SDRAM or RDRAM memory, and vice versa. Only use the memory speed recommended by your motherboard's manufacturer. Please read the specifications carefully or call us for expert advice.

Upgrading Your Memory to Improve Performance
As programs get more complex, you’ll discover that your trusty PC may not be working as quickly or efficiently as it used to. While your impulse might be to purchase a new, more powerful computer, you can dramatically improve performance simply by upgrading your memory. For far less than what you’d pay for a new computer, a memory upgrade will often have your PC working faster and more efficiently than ever before. Plus, it’s relatively easy to install new memory and only takes a few minutes of your time. For our step-by-step guide to simple memory installation click here.

Video Installation Guide
Not sure exactly how to install a new component or upgrade your PC? Watch as our experts show you step by step. We cover all the details and show you everything you'll need to perform a professional installation, including tools, parts and cables. We make it fast and easy by showing you how.

Understanding Computer Memory
Because memory is such a crucial element of our computer's performance, we all understand that we need it in generous supply. However, questions remain about what kind of memory is best, what functions each memory serves and which memory is used for notebooks and PCs. Click Here for more information that will answer your many of your questions.

How Much Memory Do You Really Have?
When you look at the specifications for a computer, it will display the installed memory, and typically the maximum memory that can be installed. However, while these are real values, they represent a potential useable memory depending upon the installed operating system, and other factors. The actual useable memory may be different (lower) from these values. The reason is simply that a computer may have a limitation in the operating system (such as Windows 32 bit versions), or configured to use shared memory, which reduces the amount of RAM that is available to the CPU by using some of it for other purposes, such as for video memory. In some cases, you can control the maximum useable memory through system settings, by upgrading from a 32 bit to a 64 bit version of Windows XP or Vista, or by upgrading to a video card that has internal onboard video memory.

But always remember, that the amount of memory that your system reports, is not always the amount of actual installed memory. For example, if you have 4GB installed, 32 bit versions of Windows will typically report 3.2GB due to a limitation of Windows itself.  Also note that different Windows programs report available and maximum memory differently, which can be confusing. If you find that you need more memory, we suggest expanding your system memory, since this is the most effective performance increase, and the one that is easiest to perform .
