Ambisound

1080i HDMI
HDMI stands for High Definition Multimedia Interface. It is a direct digital connection that can carry digital HD video as well as digital multichannel audio. By eliminating the conversion to analog signals it delivers perfect picture and sound quality, completely free from noise. HDMI is fully backward-compatible with DVI (Digital Video Interface).
Connect your iPod
This unique connection allows you to hook up the Philips dock to the home theater system for media playback from your iPod. With Extended User Interface, you can also enjoy the convenience of direct access and viewing of your iPod content on your TV screen.

I have always been a fan of Philips products. I am glad that I ran across this GREAT VALUE! Easy setup, great sound and cool features! I really like the DIVX on Demand Feature and itching to try it out.. |

I purchased a previous Philips wall mount model and was pleasantly surprised at how well it was constructed. But this model left that clearly behind. Space & $$$$ savings, great sound and controls made this a welcome partner to my modest HDTV. Overall this unit sours. |

I hadn't really expected much for the price, but have been very pleasantly surprised by the Ambisound quality of the TV, CD's and DVD's.
A really nice looking unit too.

Had hoped it would allow a line in and then an out to the TV so that I could get some amplification on gamedays but no such luck. Oh well. It is base heavy on the sound but really for the price I think it would be hard to beat. |

| What Is
High Definition And How Is It Different From Standard Definition?
High Definition or "HD" is a
technological leap forward from standard definition, with up to 6x the
picture resolution, so that what you see is sharper and more realistic. Regular TVs and the TV channels you watch
at home are typically in standard definition (unless you watch HD channels).
DVD are also in standard definition. Standard definition (480i & 480p)
is lower quality than high definition. Many older TV sets are standard
def, and can only show standard def content (programming). Many new
TVs are called High Definition TVs (HDTV). They are capable of showing
high def content in: 720p, 1080i, and 1080p, all high definition
formats, but 1080p provides the highest picture quality of them all.
