First, outstanding performance was immediate. Blu-Ray, regular DVD, and music CDs all played without a hitch. The only problem was working the cabling between the Player and my surround system. Mine required an optical cable to accompany the HDMI I had already purchased. I didn't know until I searched both components through Google. Firmware was already updated on the machine out of the box. |

The BDP1500 player was an eye catcher at $119.00. Better yet was the manufacturer name attached to this deal. I have owned the original player, BDP1000, since these products became available. The BDP1000 has been dependable and continues to run, even through two Firmware updates. The newer BDP1500 was purchased because of the brand name for our Family room setup. I decided to ''GO'' with with what I know to work well because of their dependability. |

I was waiting to find a product I could trust at a price I could afford. This is it. Obviously, this refurbished unit was not packed in an original box which looked like it was drop kicked to my doorstep. The player itself was unharmed and looked like a brand new unit. It has performed perfectly from day one and I personally have no complaints. Throw the box out and no one will know its a refurbished unit. Indeed, it does take a moment for the disk and menus to load, but that is really only a possible problem the first time you use it when you're not sure whether or not it is working. As a senior citizen, I can confirm that it still moves faster than I do and it comes up faster than our old tube type tvs and radios. Demands for instant gratification may be getting out of hand. If forced to register a complaint, I will say only that I was amused and perhap annoyed to discover there were no batteries for the remote control. The sun still came up the next day. |

I purchased this player about a month ago and I couldn't be happier. I already have experience with it because my father purchased the same one about a year ago, but I got mine cheaper :-). I only wanted a nice entry level player to watch blu rays on and I found it in this one. My only gripe is that it can get a little hot, but that may be due to the fact that I stack my cases on top of it. |
$140 I could have used for New player or PS3

I bought this in August and it died in October. A few days ago I got half way through a 150 minute movie and it stopped working. I tried updating the firmware and even after that, it says it can't play the disc. I even tried playing discs that worked before in their entirety. I used the player 1 to 2 times per week. It powers up, it just won't play. |
