Works great in 1st floor basement
Because I'm in a 1st floor basement, I didn't expect this to work this well but I am getting 12 channels, 8 clear HD channels. With any OTA antenna I've tried I would get a max of about 5 channels, 2 of which were HD. In my case, Not all of them appear together though, the antenna really has to be pointed in the best direction to get most or all channels.

Worth the money
I bought this thinking it was too good to be true. I get several HD channels, but because of my location (2nd floor), my reception for american CBS channel is quite poor. I think if I was higher up it would've been better. This is in Montreal.

Not worth the money
Read the reviews so far submitted and assumed this item would work however it got 2 channels rather poorly no matter how I tried different locations. Put back on a pair of 30 year old rabbit ears and got 12 channels. This is in Ottawa not outside in a remote or rural area. Paid $8 for shipping and $16 to return the item. Disappointed to say the least, even with the amplifier I am sure I would do better with a coat hanger.

Works Well
I live an hour outside of Toronto. Hooked this little unit up to my TV, pointed it to the southeast and instantly got 9 HD channels. Pretty impressed.

Improved signal strength of local stations and helps provide much clearer picture.

Power or no power - same difference
Got this antenna to try to improve receptions on some of the channels just north of Toronto, but to no avail. Have old basic RCA antenna - same quality of reception and no mess with power adaptor. Not worth extra money.

Not Bad
Not a stationary antenna to receive OTA signals. Just like the old days you have to move it around the room to pick up signals. No channel surfing with this product. But when signals are received the picture quality is better than that of satellite.
