I'm updating my audio studio, and planning to do a little video. The author of my audio software suggests a 64-bit engine. This seems to fit the bill and at a price I can afford. My question is - what does ''quad Core'' mean? Does that mean it has 4 processors? or 4 Memory banks? When you say Intel Core ''2'' quad Q6700 2.66Ghz... what does the ''2'' mean. I get that 2.66 Ghz is the clocking speed. And isn't the bus speed significant to overall performance? If so... shouldn't that be included in the specs?Next the 640 GB is this SATA or PATA?Finally is ''Labelflash'' on the dvd simular to the LIGHTSCRIBE I was looking at last year? Question by

Quad-core means that the processor has 4 cores, not 4 processors. A processor with multiple cores is much better at handling multiple tasks simultaneously than one with a single core. The clock speed is a factor, but it can be misleading because a higher clock speed does not necessarily imply a more powerful processor. The processor model is much more important than the clock speed. The 640GB drive is a SATA drive, as it is uncommon to find PATA drives in modern desktops. Labelflash is similar to Lightscribe. They are different technologies, but they both do the same thing. Answer by

I have an 6-year old Gateway PC. It has been a great computer, but I want to upgrade. Is it possible to buy the new Gateway with XP instead of Vista? Everything I have is on XP, and I don't want to lose any files. I owe Microsoft Office XP Professional with Publisher Version 2002. Can I load this on the new Gateway or would I have to buy a new program? When I bought my old Gateway, I had several programs preloaded. Can I do that with your company? Thanks for the information.
