Regarding Price

To those questioning the $2400 price tag on this monitor. Here's why it's so expensive: this monitor has enough colour depth (that is, it's able to display enough colors) that it can match the most data-intensive, colour-rich media formats available. Most consumer LCD's display 8-bit color; that is, they are capable of displaying around 16 million colors. That's plenty for most uses and for the average user. On the other extreme, film production houses - and with the growing popularity of digital cinema cameras (my line of work) - are often dealing in 30-bit color - or just over one Billion colors (over 60 times the amount of color data). For most people this is overkill. For studios, this is a critical necessity for mastering the uber-quality theatre-quality prints that they deal with on an everyday basis. In short, the more data you put in, the more data needs to come out. This is actually a very attractive price. This LCD replaces $10k studio monitors.

I know right... I thought it was a lot of 10 or something... Then I saw it was just one, AND IT'S AN HP!?!? No thanks. I'll stick with an LG.
