Worth it!

Excellent for price
I use this product for recording video straight to my laptop in the field for a show I am producing. The video we are recording is 720p. This device gives a great picture without loosing frame rate. Would advise anyone that it is a great product at that resolution anyway. Have not tried it at a higher resolution. Good customer support also.

Working now
The first one of these sent to me did not work and I spent hours on the phone w tech support before we decided it was the unit. Got a replacement quickly and new one set up very easily

Great Product!
This works great for transferring VHS or VHC-C Camcorder tapes to the computer to be burned to a DVD. This is wonderful for preserving memories of family events.

Good card for the money.
I have had this product for a long while now and have converted over 100 VHS tapes with no problems. I used Nero for capturing the video with this card. I did not use the software that came with it. I just installed the drivers for it. Great product for the price. I would buy again.

Use AVI uncompress for best quality
I used this device to convert a film that was made with an older SONY camera and stored on a magnetic tape. When I used the software that came with the device, I was a little bit disappointed. At the maximum resolution you could see the squares that were used to compress the image. The image was not bad, but it was not the best. So I decided to try something else; I used VirtulaDub to record the input and I saved the film using AVI uncompressed. It took approximately 1 GB for 1 minute using 640 x 480 resolution. It was much better then before, so I think that I should be satisfied. Next I will compress the movie so I can get it to a decent size and store it on a DVD.

Look for a better alternative!
I used it once to convert 1 8mm tape to DVD after that it quit working and I returned it.

As advertised
Product was simple to install, and relatively simple to operate. Manual adequate, though it didn't show exactly where the input editor tab was. I found the little arrow down on the main control panel by accident.
