Worked well
This cable worked as advertised and did the job. I should have ordered a longer one though, these don't work well with an extension USB cable. I think that goes for all conversion cables like this.

Worked, but
This did work as advertised, but... I was planning on using it to connect to my weather station which is serial port only. It worked and transferred the data as expected. But after a number of hours, that stopped. Rebooting the computer, and all was well. I played with many settings to try to stop the shutdown without success. Eventually replaced it with an actual comm port card.
