The ambx lighting is a great idea and enhances video game play, movie lighting and ambiance superbly. The only drawback is this thing is very cheaply produced, it's made of thin plastic. I would have been completely disappointed had I bought it when it was uber expensive. I've had the product about three months now and the middle washer has started to flicker between color shifts with the ambx illuminate program running. Ambx forum users have been seeing this and have been instructed to return them to the retailer as it's defective hardware.
All together, I'd recommend purchasing it for $40. Just don't run the illuminate program with it. You'll save on it burning out sooner. |

This product is a great addition to your computer. It enhances gameplay to a higher level, making games rediculous good. They work great and i really enjoy their in game features. If you dont already own a set of these lights you should totally get them. |

I bought one way back when it came out for like a hundred bucks. Then this store had them down to $40 so I snatched 3 more sets. Now I notice they put em back up to $50 so they must only have like one or two left. Buy it now. Everywhere else is still over a hundred bucks. Playing games in dark rooms is amazing. videos work with vlc player too. which is cool. |

Good:
Once hooked up, this unit does some very cool things. Between gaming and movie watching, this little gadget definitely take the experience one step further.
Bad:
Fragile. I've had to replace the unit twice due to failures. Mind you I'm not touching these things once they are set-up, the failures are happening without so much as a bump. Lastly, the software is very sketchy atm. It take a lot of patience to get this thing to run right. Example, there is one set up software in the box, one set between the box and the beauty box (covering) and then if that isn't confusing enough, neither are any good and you have to go through a process just to remove it so you can download the right software which is still fairly buggy IMHO.
With all that said, they RMA'ed the items both times without question and in a very timely fashion and as we speak my desk is alight with amBX.
Would I recommend these? Yes |

Driver support still has a few bugs(going to sleep/waking up, application detection, non-native game support). Natively supported games work great. Non-native games also work well except for DX10 games. These must have native support. However, at 40 bucks, these are a good deal and have great potential if the driver support is improved. |
