Quality of the sound actually surprised me

As computer speakers, I didn't expect much in sound quality. I didn't think the bass speakers in the bases of these units could really do much but I am really surprised at how well they sound. And their footprint is quite small which is an advantage on a crowded desk. Very good product!

You won't be dissapointed!!

Bought these speakers for a good sounding system without getting to drastic with the price. These speakers are awesome! Great sounding with very clear vocals. Actually use them for some audio editing and they work just fine for what they are.

Half the space for half the price

I wanted a surround sound system but I didn't have the space. This certainly isn't the same as surround sound, but having two speakers and two subwoofers in such a small area met my needs. The sound comes out loud and clear, and at almost half price it's a great deal. Only wish it had a headphone jack, but that's my bad for not noticing.

Great size, good sound

I wanted a speaker set that did not take up too much room and I did not want a subwoofer. The bass speakers drive out the bottom with tweeters higher. Nice combination when playing iTunes music and no clutter. Recommended

Very nice speakers but

These speakers sound very good for their price and size. The bottom speakers are very nice. Their location lets the sound bounce off the table and spread out making them full and rich. The problem is that there is no cover or grill over this bottom speaker. If you did not pay attention to where you are placing them you could poke a hole into or rip out the whole speaker.

Simple but amazing sound!

I was looking for a decent pair of speakers without a subwoofer when I stumbled on these guys. a subwoofer are build directly onto the bottom of the speakers and has such rich sound! I saw that other people said music listening left more to be desired but I disagree, if you play a 320kbps mp3, these speakers give you a crisp high, and a punching low. gaming is great as well, i love the rumbling on my desk when playing any sort of action game, gives you an extra bit of realism when you can feel the sound of an explosion...if that makes sense.

Good, but not great.

Just recently bought these speakers on sale for my main system, and was left fairly underwhelmed. The sound is good, just not to the level I was expecting. That doesn't mean these are bad speakers though (especially if you get them on sale). Like I said the sound they put out is solid, they have an interesting design, the set up is easy, and if your tight for space these will slip right in. I will probably not be keeping these speakers, and will look at other options.

This is how QUALITY should sound!

I wanted to upgrade my work PCs speakers in hopes they would sound vaguely similar to my primary PCs speakers Altecs (5.0 Surr Sound). Once they arrived I conducted a test, using music, of my work PCs speakers while still attached to the PC and then the Expressionist speakers - I was blown away by the sound that emanated from these very visibly appealing speakers. Excellent product ladies and gents from a long time customer.

Great speakers at a competitive price

These speakers sound amazing for only $70. Having limited space they were exactly what I was looking for and couldn't be more pleased.

Altec Lansing has always had great sound systems.

Excellant bass response & treble mix sound system for it's size. I'm quite satisfied! The only thing I would change is a linear volume knob instead of step graduation volume buttons, make power switch led brighter or put the power switch led in the front of the speaker case so you can see it better. All in all, it's still a quality sound system and well worth it's weight in gold!
