D-Link DIR-825 Xtreme N Dual Band Gigabit Router
The D-Link® Xtreme N™ Dual Band Gigabit Router (DIR-825) is the latest addition to the award-winning Xtreme N product family. The dual band technology in the DIR-825 supports 2.4GHz & 5GHz wireless signals at the same time. This allows you to check e-mail and browse the Internet using the 2.4GHz band while simultaneously streaming High-Definition (HD) movies and other media on the 5GHz band. The DIR-825 is designed for users looking to get a true HD wireless connection that can handle multiple HD video streams throughout the house, while being backward compatible with existing 802.11g and 802.11a products.
POWERED BY HD FUEL™
Use the power of HD Fuel to play your movies and games with superior technology over competing routers. We’ve combined the clarity of the 5GHz wireless band with our advanced Intelligent QoS engine to create a technology ideally suited for streaming your HD media.
WHY INTELLIGENT QoS IS BETTER!
With some routers, all wired and wireless traffic, including Voice over IP (VoIP), Video Streaming, Online Gaming, and Web browsing are mixed together into a single data stream. By handling data this way, applications like Streaming Video could pause or delay. With the D-Link Intelligent QoS Prioritization Technology, wired and wireless traffic are analyzed and separated into multiple data streams. These streams are then categorized by sensitivity to delay, so applications like VoIP, Video Streaming, and Online Gaming are given priority over Web browsing. This enables multiple applications like Streaming Video and Gaming to stream smoothly to your TV or PC.
Delivering best-in-class performance, network security, and coverage, the Xtreme N Dual Band Gigabit Router (DIR-825) is the ideal centerpiece for your wireless network in the home or office.

I very carefully followed the instructions and wrote notes during the installation incase something went wrong, it worked fine. I like the security and internet only guest access. All my computers can use any printers, scanners and network drives. Sometimes I wish I had a Print Server, otherwise it is a great product. I had to unistall, reinstall after the OS upgrade.
Overall a good value

Bought this to replace an ancient netgear wireless router. Works fine after a firmware upgrade. The browser interface had some problems. My original firmware would not save IP addresses in the DHCP address reservations. It was driving me crazy. The browser interface also incorrectly told me I had the latest firmware installed. Called tech support. Explained the problem. Got disconnected from tech support. Called back. Loaded new firmware and all was well.
Wireless connection stays up. No drop outs.
Allows for guest access to internet. Configured guest access as WEP so my kids can connect their Nintendo DS' to the internet. The DS can only do WEP. This allows the rest of the network to be protected by stronger protection.
Guest access does not allow you to see what guests are currently connected which I find weird.
Overall a good value.

I had another router and access point when I decided combine both features and upgrade to this router. I can say that this router is great for the price. This router maybe too advance for novice users, but good enough to give you peace of mind in a secure home environment. Features such as no SSID broadcast comes in handy to prevent users from utilizing your Internet.
perfect for my application...

First - you must do a firmware upgrade. I initially had problems with the router but after the upgrade, the issue was corrected. I broadcast in 2.4 for regular network connectivitiy and use the 5GHz broadcast to stream Pandora Radio and Netflix to my A/V system. I can stream in both frequencies, and play CD4 using the LAN connection without any problems.
