works well, does Linux

Bought this to use on Linux as it was known to be compatible in the Tux circles. Well, there's a little compiling to do first, of course. Best with newer distro's with the latest kernels. Windows 7, remarkable performance in Media Center compared to 'cheapie' dongle I had. Set up wasn't bad either. Great HD, controls understandable, and records for me OK. And I use an antenna. Fit my low profile case without crowding. Linux, gotta work on it. Kaffeine works best with V4l back.

OK card

Well I ordered this to go in my media PC while I am at college. Well when im in my apartment which has basic cable it works ok and records at schedueled times, the only thing I have a problem with is every once and a while it will make a high pitched static sound. I don't know if this is only my card. Remote works if you install the drivers that are on the disc or on the website. But when Im at a relatives place and they have digital boxes the card does not detect channels during scans. overall OK just a bit costly for performance.

Still can't get the remote to work

What is it with Hauppauge tuners? This is the second one that I have bought where I could not get the remote control to work. I should have known better before I bought this one. I guess it was wishful thinking. I previously had a Diamond ATI that worked fine but I sold the PC that it was installed into. I should have bought another one of those. Also, it's impossible to get any support out of Hauppage.

Works Great

The only problem I have had seems to be a Windows 8 Media Center Problem, saying I don't have enough room for recording. It picks up all of my channels. But you have to go into Media Center to edit the Guide listings because the card picks up the actual QAM frequency and not the listing channel. The remote is a little touchy in Windows 8 but I have no problems with it in Windows 7.

Card Freezes up

Too often this card will freeze up and I will have to restart the tv card. If I use the dvr function and I fast forward too often the card will freeze up and I will have to restart the card. Also the local channels are not given the same numbers as the local station gives them. i.e. instead of channel 7.2 this card will list it as channel 2173.

does not always record

drivers are not easy to find to update the card it does not always record a set time or fails during the recording, no where reliable to be set to record a program a week away

Worked perfectly right out of the box. (Not as happy with windows media player setup...lol)

Works Great

Easy to use and install. The included software is a bit cheap, but the drivers work well with Media Center. About 20 days into using it, it suddenly stopped working, but reinstalling the drivers seemed to fix it. All in all, I'm very satisfied with it.

I would recommend this video capture board for anyone interested in viewing it in Window Media Center...Works Great!

Card Works Fine

However, the WinTV software is resource intense and drags my entire system down. After loading the drivers I found that I get better performance with third party software such as VDub or PowerVCR.
