Works as advertised
What can you say about a hard drive - it either works or it doesn't. This one performs as per spec and I had no problem with its application. I used it as a new primary drive in an older computer to upgrade to Windows 7. Everything went off without a hitch.

fantastic value
got this drive delivered in just two days installed it with acronis true image from western digital web site using cables unlimited usb kit for hard drives cloned my c: drive in about fifteen minutes then shudown and installed it in computer worked perfect great drive silent and fast

I just pruchased this hard drive for my dvr. I plugged it into my laptop and it says NO DVR formatted storage Device Detected. It disables my program that came with it. I have tried to download this with 2 different laptops and it is the same every time. It works fine on the TV but I needed it for the laptop. It is confusing.

Glad to see there is a store out there that still carries PATA drives (no thanks to you Newegg!). Product was shipped very fast, arrived in excellent package and fit like a glove! Immediately detected and BAM, my computer is awesome once again. No noise, no problems at all. Had a Maxtor 160 GB that burned out in 2 years so I really hope Western Digital lasts longer than that. My original Maxtor 15 GB is still going strong after 10 years, must be a QC/QA issue or budget cuts.
