I am wishing to purchase the Garmin Nuvi 255W GPS - 4.3'' Touch Screen Display, 3D Map View, SD Card Slot, HotFix. The description states that North American Maps are included.Is there anyway to get this GPS with Europe maps?

Want a unit to use on a rental car. I think I noticed that the audio can run through the car sound system. Any additional equipment required? Is it reasonable to expect the rental car sound system to accept this GPS unit with no hassel? Also, if the car won't accept it, is there on-board audio on the unit itself?

Without knowing which car you are renting, take nothing for granted. The 255W does have a stand alone voice directional prompt system. You can pick from severeal different lanuages and voices.The only thing you might want to look into is a portable friction mount like the Garmin 010-11280-00. It will hold the GPS unit without slipping and slidding best of all you can remove it without any damage to the car and in a second or two, no one would know that you have a GPS system. Everything else you need comes with the unit.

The Nuvi 205w is preloaded with U.S. maps (continental U.S., Hawaii and Puerto Rico) and the text to speech feature does not say the street names. On the other hand, the Nuvi 255w, together with the maps loaded on the 205w, also has Canada maps preloaded in it and its text to speech feature also include the street names.

According to the manufacturer, this product is preloaded with City Navigator North America NT 2008 which includes the maps of the continental U.S., Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico and Canada.

What accessories exactly comes out of the box with the Garmin Nuvi 255W GPS? I really like the unit, but it never says what comes with it. That makes a difference on the entire price. Right?
