Does the Job
This small portable device is exacly what we needed for a netbook that typically sets on a lap-buddy. It is small enough that it travels easily in the netbook bag but powerful enough to cool the netbook. Haven't tried it on a laptop but for a netbook, you can't beat the performance for the price.

Plus or minus?
Lays flush with table. No clearance on bottom of fan to grab and push any air. Needs a modification to the design. Add a small rubber or foam foot and it will be worth the price. Compact and quiet. Nearly a waste of a USB port except that it does its job.

Perfect for DVR
I was having problems with my DVR overheating and installed this fan to alleviate the problem. It plugged right into the DVR usb and I have had zero issues with overheating since then. It seems to work just fine, quiet but cheaply made but what can one expect from a free product. Got my rebate in less than three weeks too (as opposed to the 6-8 weeks listed)!
