3 Strikes, You're Out

I've purchased 3 of these KVM Switches. 1st lasted about 3 months, then there were problems with keyboard-mouse switching finally nothing, 2nd one lasted about 2 weeks, keyboard-mouse switching problems, 2 days later nothing, 3rd DOA out of the box! I'm done wasting my time with these.

good price, decent unit, but be warned

Sometimes the keyboard and mouse do not activate on switching. Overall, nothing out of the ordinary for this price tier of product. Having dual DVI makes the unit worth the price; however, be warned that the DVI cabling for the unit is DVI-I. If your computer or monitor uses DVI-D you'll need to purchase an adapter or manually modify the connectors on the cables that come with the unit.

Works like it should

Pretty impressed with this product. One end is hooked up to a regular PC, the other end to IBM's latest ThinkPad port replicator. Has been working flawlessly for several weeks now.

Cables to short

The DVI cables are to short,only 4 feet long.Teck-Sup is very slow.Unit works OK ,but not great.

Switch

Lots of wires. The wiring kit they included cuts down on the clutter and saves hunting around till you find all the right cabling. It is great that the audio can be pinned to one or the other machine. I can keep listening to music on one and switch to work on the other without losing my music. Unit too light and cables too short

Nice little package but hard to place on the desk because front and back of product are used for connections. The cables supplied are too short for most computer lay outs. With Windows seven I had to change my settings regarding suspend. Once one of the computers goes into suspend you cannot turn the other computer back on without removing the green features of Windows seven in power options. I felt that the product itself works to my satisfaction. I would recomend that Trendnet weigh the unit down and supply cables that are two feet longer.

Waste of money

i purchased this item in the idea of saving my self some money and desktop space. i did save some money and desktop space but im am able to only use half the features. i am able to share one monitor and one set of speakers but am unable to get keyboard and mouse to work. Tech support was contacted and said to upgrade system drivers and bios. these pc's are new and the keyboard and mouse work on both when plugged into each pc. I am force to use this device because of my digital monitor or i would return it. i shouldnt have to upgrade bios and drivers for a simple mouse and keyboard. I will never buy another product from the makers of this device.

DVI USB KVM Switch a great solution

As a lighting designer, I often had long, CPU instensive lighting calculations to process on my business computer. Unfortunately, while these calculations were taking place, I could not access my everyday business software for quotations and customer service. The TRENDnet TK-204UK was the answer. I built a high-end, high performance machine dedicated to lighting design software only. Now, I can create my design on the new machine and initiate calculations, then "Hotkey" back to my business machine to continue working on other issues. Both machines share one 1080P 28" monitor, a USB keyboard,a USB trackball, speakers, and mike. The TRENDnet switch works flawlessly. It could use a little more stable physical design, as connecting 3 heavy DVI monitor cables, keyboard, mouse, speakers and mike bulk the unit up and make it list to the rear. It also needs some dedicated desktop space for the front cable connections. But, for overall performance, it's 5 stars!
