Windows 8 not to bad

was thinking it was going to be difficult to navigate however, once you get the hang of it, it is not a bad OS

Upgrade Version Provides Less Functionality

I purchased in January 2013 at $69.99 while, unbeknownst to me, Microsoft was offering the non-upgrade version on-line for %40.00. The Upgrade version won't permit you to DualBoot, and the Metro UI is intrusive and cumbersome to use. So if you can stand your OS continually phoning home to Bing, and the lack of a Start button, and a retail Store on your Metro, you'll be rewarded with a considerably more stable and easier to troubleshoot OS. But at $199.99, I'd think twice....

window 8 Pro NO Office

when I buy windows pro I expect to have microwsoft office otherwise I do not see a reason to buy pro. All my windows pro programs I bought before included microwsoft office standard. I will never buy it without office included that would loose its value. I would tell everyone not to buy windows pro till they include Office like it has always been before.

buy this only if you want another cell phone

Windows 8 turns your computer into a cell phone. I do not like it because I want a computer and not another cell phone

No Problems

Had no problems installing. After installation had to reload my applications again. Did not lose any personal files, emails or pictures. Having problems with my scanner. It no longer works on the network had to attach it via usb port to desktop. Not a MS problem, but a product upgrade problme from the manufactor.

Excellent Software and Price

Very fast installing and in operation. Takes some getting used to; but really good once you do.

Installed with ease

Installed with ease, and as with win 7 had to reinstall a number of programs. All worked fine.

different, but faster

A few problems with installing over win 7, but after getting everything worked out it does seem faster and more stable. Hard to adjust to the new screen setup.

It's OK

Hold your Phone in your left hand. Hold your mouse in your right. Put your Phone in your pocket. Win8 is pretty much a touch phone that dosen't call anybody and wont fit in your pocket. That being said, once you get use to the App's screen (which takes a while) it's alright. I wouldn't pay $139 for a full version, but if you can get an upgrade for $69 or less, its worth that if you just have to try it. Like touch phones, I'm shure it will get better.

Takes some getting used to

Had some trouble installing this over Win 7 home premium. Finally had to do a clean install after backing up all my personal files. Now it works beautifully.
