Worked right away for friend in Cuba!
A friend asked me to help her friend in Cuba get a phone. This model worked great. I set it up for him up here by creating a Google account for him, added an 8 GB SD card ($10) and installed free MapDroyd and navigable maps of Cuba (as Wi-Fi is rare there). When my friend gave it to him in Cuba, he put in his SIM card and it worked right away - if that doesn't prove unlocked, I don't know what does! Nice screen and keyboard, and quality seems fine. Tons of (Android) capability for an unbeatable price.
