A good choice for most

In my experiences in the last ten years with the company, you really can't go wrong with anything Vantec. Well built, well thought out, and plug and play. Some people have complained about the sound level of the cooling fan but I found it to be very quiet. I only have two minor issues with this product and one suggestion. As reported in several other reviews, the big blue light on the front is a bit extreme unless you are a gamer and like flashy things. Second I find it disappointing that the all aluminum case is capped both front and back with plastic instead of aluminum. Finally a suggestion to the company (maybe they all ready offer one like this) It would be nice to also have a switch that changes the connection from USB to eSATA. This shouldn't be that hard since the enclosed drive connection is all ready SATA. All in all this is a great product. I like it a lot and will continue to buy Vantec.

Not intended for a hard drive

My 8 yr old network IDE drive reached end of life. I wanted an enclosure, with a fan, that was not hard to fit a hard drive, just like my old enclosure. I put a 1.5 TB Hard drive in this enclosure. Notes, there was no end cover plate. I had to fill the hole with some filter material. This box does not have mount positions for a hard drive. I dug out some old 5.25 adapter rails. The bezels have not come off. There are two black finished screws to hold the back bezel on. The finished package is plugged into the USB port, of my new router. It is much faster than my old setup.

Fits my needs

I bought one of these at the outlet store in Houston. I've had it for about 9 months and have not had any trouble. I installed a removal 3.5 SATA drive bay to allow me swap in between different media and it works great.

Ok, not great

Case looks sharp but a bit pricey. Fan is a bit loud at times. I have to make sure I remember to turn it off at night because the blue LED is extremely bright. I had planned to use this with a Bluray drive I purchased however it drops the connection all the time with that drive only in this case. I think it may be a power issue. Using a standard dvd drive in the case works wonderfully.

Good product, iffy descriptions, pricey solution

This NST530S2 enclosure 3.5 has a good design but the review software is restrictive and won't let you name the product. It wiped out everything I wrote. Lite-on blue ray burner installed, worked fine on PC with OEM software but incompatible with Mac so x on that review... Case fan is noisier than my mac and will have to crank the volume over it... Works well, well engineered, like the design but twin fans at lower speed and noise level would be better.

Not what I expected for the money.

Fan is noisy. Plastic bezels kept falling off until I taped them to the case. Electronically, it works as it is suppose to.

Sleek and GoogdLooking

Purchased to add a Blu-Ray burner inside to use on three computers. Have edited and burned several wedding videos and birthday videos. Having the ability to burn to Blu-Ray at full 1080p resolution gives me that edge to be the one picked. Having the ability to move between computers meant a great deal and saved having to add one to each computer. Would have been better if it had USB 3.0, but the price was great. If the burner goes south, very easy to add another. I recommend this case if you are looking for a cost conscience solution

BEST PRODUCT FOR BLU-RAY BURNER

I bought this for my Pioneer BDR-205 Blu Ray Burner that I also bought from this site and it works great, no problem what so ever and easy to setpup, like 5 min or less. So far I have burned BD-R at 4x and it takes like 10-15 min to burn, not bad considering that this burner can burn up to 12x and its transfering the data through a USB 2.0. If you want an enclosure for a blu-ray burner then this is the one.

Does what it says it will do

It is a bit costly for an enclosure. However it works perfectly. Really simple to set up.Put my DVD burner in and connected to my XP computer. Never had a problem. If this is what you need. I recommend
