Audio Issues
Great sound, when playing anyting but Cable TV. Internet and networking features are really cool. Some stations on Cablevision experience audio lag: the audio is 2-3 seconds behind the video, and it gets bad, have to restart the system to fix. Another fix is to just have the sound come out the TV when watching cable which kinda sucks becuase thats what I got this for, but Netflix's and other apps are great and this can stream media from my PC with no lag.

Audio Lags
Great sound and enough bass to rock my knickknacks. Internet and networking features are really nice. Some stations on DISH network experience audio lag: the audio is 2-3 seconds behind the video, and it gets bad. Sony and I could not work it out. I found other unresolved complaints about the same problem with other providers and playing XBox. I couldn't stand reading lips any longer so I returned it.

Compared to other products, a good choice
I wanted something: (1) name brand (2) easy to set up (3) low cost and (4) with lots of features--specifically, Blu-Ray and surround sound, and Internet applications. It was less important to me that it be the BEST system out there, or able to play music loudly. I got exactly what I wanted at a price I wanted to pay, and it was quick to set up (perhaps took me half and hour from opening the package to having holes drilled, wires run and sound optimized.) Just what I wanted!

The sony E580 is a great deal for the $$. The wi-fi works good and the sound is decent.

Great all in one system
Bought the system to replace a dead sony reciever and blu-ray player. I love the interface on the system, the features, and the satellite speakers. The only negative is the sub. It is great for filler bass, but for really booming bass look to a system that has a self powered subwoofer.
