Perfect for HTPC
Used this in a new HTPC build. Handles everything I've thrown at it so far quickly and very quietly. Performance is amazing for such an inexpensive processor. Very happy with this purchase!

The best value for Intel i3
This is the only i3 with Quick Sync 4000, the same as the higher bin K chips. The video logic is two-three times faster than the previous generation, and especially useful for video editing with software that can utilize it. The processor is running cool, 4 logical cores, since it is 4-threads. It fits great for HTPC with a mini I-ATX board. If you are going to use external video, than probably other cheaper i3 is better choice, but for minimalistic Intel builds, this is the one.

Sweet Spot of Value Home Computing
This dual-core CPU is truly the sweet spot for the average home PC user. It combines low power, high performance (with hyperthreading), and efficient design along with HD4000 graphics which suits the common desktop user that doesn't do much 3D gaming. The only thing it's lacking is PCI Express 3.0 support, which the average home user doesn't need anyhow. Combine this with an SSD (and other standard build parts) and you're golden. Throw in a value GPU if you want to do some casual gaming. I'm very pleased with this CPU.

Awesome chip! Don't hesitate!
I bought this chip for my HTPC. It runs very cool (28C on idle, 35C when playing blu-ray) with the stock cooler. The built in HD-4000 graphics easily play any media you can throw at it without so much as a hicup and it saves having to run a separate graphics card which cuts noise and heat. I highly recommend for high performance, multitasking HTPC applications!
