| Onkyo HTS5100B Home Theater System Onkyo has unleashed its latest development for the home theater arena, the Onkyo HTS5100B Home Theater System. This home theater system is a powerhouse for High-Definition video sources with iPod playback and SIRIUS connectivity.
The Onkyo HTS5100B uses HDMI technology for excellent video performance that produces a resolution of up to 1080p. Three HDMI inputs are available for fast switching from one display to another. This feature is perfect for enabling the highest possible video resolution.
The device’s support for iPod audio playback is one of the great features of the HT-S5100B. It is incredibly easy to integrate music and portable digital players. Music Optimizer technology is a part of this home theater system to help enhance the audio quality. Additionally, the HT-S5100 uses Audyssey 2EQ and Audyssey Dynamic EQ. With this technology, Audyssey 2EQ, distortion and loudness will be corrected thus, resulting to a clear, well-balanced and natural sound. However, the Audyssey Dynamic EQ selects the best possible frequency response and surround levels all the times which indeed results to a perfect volume level.
Another form of technology architecture is the use of SIRIUS Satellite Radio. It brings access to digital-quality channels like sports, news, entertainment, traffic and weather. Using the right gear, you can even access and enjoy the channels available in SIRIUS radio.

Lot of Bump for the Buck
Had the system for a little over a week and so far very happy with it. Receiver made a humming noise the day after I initially hooked it up but that has not reoccurred and hopefully will not. Ran audio with digital optical cables and digital coax cables for my satellite and Blue Ray player since the HDMI connections I used for these are pass through only. For the Wii you have to run a coax video line to your tv since it does not use HDMI line in. If you want to use HDMI connection for your x box 360 you have to run the audio back from the tv to your receiver, since it does not give you the option of using HDMI and RCA cables at the same time. I used DVD 1200 watt home theater system before and this thing blows it away with superior sound quality and power. Other than better sound the best feature is only having to use one remote for all of your components. Once programmed the Onkyo remote will operate all of the basic functions that you normally use.

I was very displeased with the HDMI passthrough ports. The whole point of HDMI is that they carry audio and video in 1 cable, but with this system you still need another audio cable. Once i figured that out it was very easy to setup and performed great.

you have to read alot to understand the set up at first but it becomes easier as you become familar with the remote. over all this 7.1 rocks.

If you need a new audio system this is the one to get! It's takes a little know-how to get everything set up but once you get it it is top notch!
