Easy to install and works well
Living out in an area where I do not have access to cable or DSL, and as satellite is not much better than dial up and very expensive, I am stuck using dial up. I got a new Windows 7 computer, and my old modem would not work with it. This one installed easily and works well.

Almost-hassle free USB modem
Really like this modem except I can't seem to get any audio such as a dial tone when making a call. This has only caused me issues when I'm trying to diagnose why a remote station won't pick up my call. Other than that, super happy, great documentation, works as advertised.

Works on 2008 R2!
I learned the hard way that if a USB modem says Windows 7 compatable, that does not mean it is 2008 compatable. This US Robotics modem is and works great. I am using three of these hanging off a server as a fax modem bank.

Works as Add-on to Win2008 Server
On a retrofit situation with a Dell 410R, needed a robust USB dialup option. Been in operation now for almost a month dialing 4 remote monitoring stations twice every hour, every day. Excellent operation so far.

works Mac OS
now that Apple does not carry a modem-to-usb anymore this product fits the bill. Used while traveling where I was not sure about w-fi and it worked just fine.

Almost Perfect
USR products have been the preferred modem for over two decades. Lack of sound is the only issue. Connects and stays connected.

Questionable value
I've tried this and the Zoom modem (on 2 different makes of desktop PC's). Neither modem delivered more than 32,000 Kbs. I get 48K with my laptop & it's built-in modem, so I doubt that the slow speed is due to my ISP or phone line. All the same, I can't swear that my slow speeds are due to the USB modems either. Every tech I talk to wants to blame someone else for the problem... so I can't get the USB modems to work any faster than 32K.
