Great drive

It was very easy to install, very fast install speeds, and computer start up went from around 2 minutes to 25 seconds. I would definitely recommend this drive.

Works Great

Don't forget to do your tweaks when using a solid state drive. I use the SSD for the OS only and used a 2 Terabyte for storage of everything possible.... if you have other user's beside your self be sure to tell them to install everything possible on the conventional drive.

Love it, wish it was bigger!

What a great purchase, my system boots so fast it is amazing. By the time I was done installing windows 8 and some other base programs thought, I had used quite a bit of memory on that. I would recommend the larger drive is you can afford it.

So Far So Good!

I purchased this SSD drive as an OS drive and Windows 7 installed easily. The drive seems really fast but it has not endured any long term strain as of yet. It would be nice if the specs for read and write speeds were posted on the site but I found them on manufacturer website before making my purchase. Obviously purchased an SSD for the speed benefits but bought this particular drive because of the reliability it is known for.

So much faster than HDD

Installed in a brand new Dell XPS8500 then installed Windows 8. Easy to install. Computer is ready to use in about 15 seconds after pressing power button. Programs all start almost instantly. Note: Downloaded latest firmware update from manufacturer

Constant blue screen of death and freezing.

I originally bought this hard drive for the fast boot up speed and the good reviews Ive seen on it. After about a month of use my computer began freezing randomly and I was occasionally getting the blue screen of death. Now my computer will run for less than 5 minutes before getting the blue screen of death. I have lost lots of data from this and it has caused me a lot of stress. Sometimes the hard drive would work for days without an issue then it would fail continuously for days. Very frustrating and now I am forced to get an RMA for it. I must say that while it did work it was very fast. I just dont see how with so many good reviews this hard drive is the worst one I've ever had to deal with. Hopefully the RMA process goes smoothly...

Good

I've had this drive for a little over a month now and have had no issues with it. It's probably the single greatest speed enhancement I've experienced from adding a piece of hardware. Boot-up went from 1-minute to 15-seconds. If your still using a mechanical hard drive for capacity reasons, consider an external drive for that data.

Great SSD indeed

I have to agree with the other reviewers. This is an awesome SSD. For me, with my small buget the price-performance ratio was really a plus. I am very pleased with the load times I have experience so far, in boot time as well as application loading. I plan to donate this one to my wife and then upgrade to a 256 GB version. Would recommend this to every PC builder out there, and if you have a larger butget go for the 256 GB because for most people 128GB might be a little on the small side. This is my first purchase from Crucial and I like it so far. I would definitely try another product from them. After the acquantince with SSD's I never want to work on an PC with old time HDD's again.

The Crucial M4 is a very good SSD. Installed Windows 7 very fast and loads programs in a snap.
