Easy peasy

Bought this as I wanted to run a cable over 50 foot from the router to my office as the WiFi was pretty rubbish from that distance. The kit is real easy to use, and it took me no time to get install it myself, and for half the cost of an electrician (and some)

Good Deal

Quality cable, the cable tester works well and there probably more ends then I will use with this length of cabling. For people who have never made a cable before it takes a few tries to get used to doing it but it gets easy after you make a few. The crimp tool is fairly well made I don't see it breaking anytime soon. I would definitely recommend this. Good price for what you get.

Great starter kit

It is awesome they include the crimper and ends to terminate the CAT5e wire. The testers do not work but you don't need them if you know what you are doing anyways.

Excellent pkg deal

Great package deal for the first timer that has none of the tools. High grade cable and best of all a professional grade crimping tool. None of the knock off stuff u might expect in such a well priced package deal. Tester worked great as I had two wires swapped and it let me know right away. Cat5 ends were just a PURE BONUS as a package of 6 at the local radio shack were $16.99 and the crimping tool of MUCH less quality was $40.00. It was almost that you get the 500 feet of cable for FREE it you bought all the items locally!!!! . Great Job

Great Deal And Easy to Use

This product comes with the tool and tester. They both are very well built and work great. The tool comes with instructions for begineers to even make cable connections. They price was by far the best anywhere.

Good deal - weird tester

The tester does not work as described. The instructions are a bad translation from Chinese and don't work anything as described. Multiple contacts to get working instructions (if you want to call them that). Can't beat the price though. Corrected tester instructions from Cables: The power light does flash an orange light when it is receiving power. The confirmation lights are the same orange color. So the manual and the unit are labeled incorrectly. If it is a straight through cable, it will cycle the orange light from 1&2, 3&6, 4&5, then 7&8. If it is a crossover, it will cycle 3&6, 1&2, 4&5, 7&8. The last 2 on the crossover, could be swapped if you also swapped those lines. Normally on the crossover cables, you just cross lines 1,2,3, and 6.

Worked on the 1st try!

I can't say i'm a wizard when it comes to anything that has to do with wires, so I was a bit skeptical. But to my own surprise it worked on the 1st try! Just make sure to play the tutorial video on this site at the same you're doing it. I did not see any guide in the kit to put the wires on, but that was actually not needed (video probably uses a slightly different kit)

fair value. not easy

Seems like a good value until you use up all your connectors trying to get them to work! You have to search the internet and you-tube to get worthy instructions. Not as easy as they show. I ended up cutting a old short cable and splicing the ends in! Th tool didn't quite line up an the connectors didn't work!

Excellent deal

For what you pay for this item the value is great. It has everything you need to begin a networking project and succeed. The cable is very decent quality, the crimper works as well as any I've used, and the tester does what it's supposed to, so no complaints about this package.

Fair price and great deal

The tools aren't the best but the price more than makes up for that . I am at present extending my home network for school and find this well within my budget . I can also do a side job here and there to help make ends meet .
