Good Desktop Speaker System
Sounds good and looks good. These are not a good option if you're planning on using Digital audio workstation (DAW) software as this system does not support WaveRT or ASIO when select there is no sound. Calling Bose the tech was not even aware of ASIO or WaveRT.

Bose Quality issues
I purchased a Lifestyle 25 system 6 months before the digital model came out. Sound reproduction like earlier models was superb. The new Bose Companion 5 Multimedia along with the Cinimate models do not have any of the robust crispness of the high end cycles & feature diminished reproduction of surround sound compared to the Lifestyle models. It will be hard to find a replacement without spending another $2000.00! Quality control specs on these should require that they last longer than 7 or 8 years.

great for a short time
I have purchased 2 sets of these and both times they played really awsome for about 1.5 years and both sets have died out on me after that. They are really awsome for the sound and money at first but it is VERY agrivating to have both set die on me in such a short time.

Wonderful Sound
This is my 2nd set of Bose Companion 5 speakers. I bought a set for work and enjoyed them so much I purchased a 2nd set for home use. The fidelity of sound is spectacular at both low and higher levels. I listen to a wide variety of music selections and appreciate good soud reporduction. Bose products are very expensively priced. The quality is top-shelf. If Bose ran a few more promotions I'd glady own more of their products.

Wow what sound !!!!!
I recieved the Bose speakers 2 days ago and I must have to admit. The sound is astonishing. I use my computer for an entire entertaining experience. With movies you can hear every little detail of the sound such as an old metal fan running in the background with all of the acters talking. I heard the sound and cranked em up to finally pinpoint the sound. Its like a game find Waldo however this is find the sound. The speakers were well made and my maching picked them up right away with no problems at all. I did have to do a complete new set up on my ventrillo as well as turning off all sound enhancements with the audio. I woule like to have seen a usb connect on the volume control hub vs the old plug for headsets.

Excellent Sound Quality
Purchased the Bose Companion 5 speaker system approximately 6 months ago. The system delivers excellent sound quality and impressive surround performance. Just note that you do not have to purchase a separate audio-sound card to work with this speaker system. The system utilizes a USB connection and will not connect with a internal sound card.

annoying
Had these speakers for about a month now and i have to keep unplugging them and replugging them every time i start up windows to get them to play sound. Its really annoying. Still a worth while buy, sound quality is way better than my old 5.1 setup.

Good speakers
Just a bit pricey; my wife thought I was nuts, but now she listens to them all the time. The bose companion 5 speakers really do sound great; I only have a couple small whines; 1) they're 110V only. Would have liked to have seen dual voltage, but ok - no problem. I'm living in Kuwait and step down transformers are not difficult to find. 2) the big volume knob is cool; easy to find, and works great. The only problem is that the center of the big volume knob is the big on-off switch and I'm constantly turning off my speakers just when I need to turn them up to find out what's being said. These are my only whines; the speakers sound awesome.

They Do What They Should... At A Price
I got this set about a week ago for my new desktop setup, and I absolutely love them. I enjoy the sound I get from them as much as I do from our standard Genelecs when I'm in the studio (and home-mixing in 5.1 is a bonus!). The only problem I have is how expensive they are. I think $400 is a bit much for the set, but I have no hesitation to suggest them to anyone who really wants a clear, defined sound for their desktop.
