Definitely As Advertised
An excellent printer at a great price. Once calibrated and adjusted the unit produces very high quality prints quickly. Not a speed deamon but pretty fast. A bit more to set up that just plugging and playing, but if quality photos are the goal more than worht the time. I would not recommend for general use printing.

Beautiful Prints & Fast Performance
I've finally added a large format photo printer and find that the R1900 is way better than previous photo printers. The print quality on gloss paper is absolutely outstanding, sort of like having your own photo lab. 4x6 prints take about 20 seconds and are instantly dry to the touch. Other photo sizes are fast - though if the printer is not used for a day or two the first print job takes 2-3 min to prime the ink. Ink is reasonably cheap and cartridge life is moderately good. Details, color fidelity and absence of artifacts are superior. Negatives: This model has been around since 2008 and it shows in some minor ways. There is no network connectivity, only USB, though you get two ports. There is no status display on the printer. Also, the print driver pops up a screen while printing, which is nice because it shows ink levels, but also looks like it came from Win95 days. Overall, would definately buy this again.

Not living up to expectations
I purchased the Epson R1900 to replace my HP 9800. The R1900 thus far has not lived up to expections. On a simple letter size photo it took more than 15 sheets to get a complete copy. The printer kept printing a portion of the pages. However the more I worked it the better it began to respond.
