the adapter helps me connect to a cheap freebie router on the second floor. wheres my old g adapter could barely hold 2 bars this holds at a solid 3 bars according to the control software it came with and five bars according to xp's control software.
on another note, the adapter MUST have the control software installed if xp (or earlier windows os) is used or the os will bsod on access point connection. i suppose this is most likely due to some features the adaptor uses that the native xp wireless controller software is not compatible with (at least for me this was the case).
interestingly enough, windows 7 does not have this issue as it apparently has updated wireless controller software and also recognized the device completely on its own. i would not know about vista though as i did not test it on vista (no real reason other than i didn't feel like it)
Not too happy with it

I had problems installing this adapter. Not sure why though. Could have been faulty PCI slots or something but in the end I was able to get it to work. However, it barely picks up a connection. My wireless router was right below and the PC was above. Not a single bar. It could be my Netgear router...as someone else also complained about the same issue. I thought is would pick up more range since it was extended range, but I was wrong. Most people liked it and it worked for them so I would get it ONLY if you don't have a netgear wireless router.

this was worth the price for a 108Mbs only problem is that it wants to diconect every once and awail im not shure if it is the wireless adapter my netgear wireless router or someone makeing a phone call. But it only did that for the first 2 days. Could of even been my xbox 360's adapter dont know any way i like it.
