Random freezing; poor documentation;
I would have loved for this device to work. Generally I like Iomega products. This device would be really nice if it worked. This device, however, seems to freeze every few weeks. The documentation is poor. I wish there was an expert mode..so you could bypass the proprietary software in the device too.

Overall an apt NAS unit for my business
The Iomega StorCenter ix4-200d complemented my Mac requirements. It was Apple Time Machine compatible and came with loads of other features like iTunes and Plug and Play (PnP) media server. The unit allows me to backup software from my desktops as well as my servers. To add to this the ix4-200d facilitates remote access of my files over the internet. I can even copy my contacts and photos from my mobile to my NAS device as it comes with Bluetooth support. The design of the ix4-200d is convenient as it does not occupy much of space. Installation also is simple and did not require any expert advice. The pack is self sufficient as it comes with management and backup software.

Unlimited features
After extensive research I finally settled for the Iomega StorCenter ix4-200d as it has unlimited features that are hard to find in a NAS storage unit. The device is bulky and looks extremely sturdy. It houses four 1TB disks amounting to 4TB storage space. The NAS drive supports PlugnPlay (PnP) media server, comes with video recorder option that is suitable for CCTV cameras. Taking backup using the ix4 is very simple as it comes with backup software for desktops and servers. The ix4 comes with cloud edition and hence remote access of files is possible using the Iomega personal cloud technology. BitTorrent support, bluetooth support, print server, iTunes server and many other features has made this NAS device the most preferred among small business users.
