Was a upgrade
I upgrade to this Router from a linksys WRT54GS that was running DTR WRT Firmware. Went from wifi speeds of 15mbps if that to about 45-50mbps. Range is same and quality about same. 5ghz wifi does run faster then the then 2.4ghz. Wireded speeds went from 39mbps to 59mbps which now mirror the speed I get with direct connect of the cable to my pc's. Was the new AC tech worth the money not really, but it sorta future proof not that there is such a thing with tech. Useing asusDRT-Merlin build, Runs kind hot compared to my old netgear i used for dsl and the old linksys 53c for 2.4ghz and 63c for 5ghz UI is nice and for most part easy to understand.

Not the performance i wanted
I was trying to upgrade from my Dlink Extreme Dir-655. I just didnot get any real world performance increase. I was hoping to improve stream HD video just one floor above my router location and I didnot get any real performance increase. Also the 5.o band doesnot reach very far in my house. I did like the IU, but the setup options are for advanced users. This router is well made, but for the price its just not worth it for me.

Great Upgrade
Upgraded from my Linksys router and I'm very pleased with how easy is was to set up. I'm very impressed with how fast the router works and the extreme range it has. It easily covers my home where my Linksys struggled. I highly recommend the ASUS RT-AC66U router. It costs a little more, but well worth it!!

Most features very good but some no good
As the title says, most of the features of this router work as advertised. The AiDisk remote access feature, however, is not ready for release yet. I have never been able to connect via the internet using my iPhone and the AiCloud app. I spent 3 or 4 days trying everything I could think of including uninstall and reinstall of the app and reset and reconfig of the router. Nothing works. I would not recommend this router if you plan to use the remote access feature.

Best Router, business class for in your home
I am totally satisfied with the router, had some small trouble getting the setup to work on my windows 8 machine, but using an android it got set up, now it works on all machine on the network. I paid $200 for this router 2-25-2013, and as you can see its dropped and added components. I really don't like that especially when its been so little time.
