Best bang for buck you can spend. If you're not going to run two graphics cards this power supply is for you.

Best in class no doubt

want to know how good this thing is? 2.5 years ago i bought a PSU for my new build and overclocked e8400 4.1Ghz and 2x 8800gt and 3 hard drives. For the first year of its life it ran 24 7 with Folding at Home maxing out not just both CPU cores but also both video cards...8800gt is a 24amp card. after the year was up and i gave up folding the pc was just used normally. Dec 28 2010 I retired the GTs and installed a single gtx 570...38amp card. i wanted to make sure the VX550 could handle the added strain i ran OCCT using the psu stress test for 30 min. If you know what that is then you know it is about as hard as you can ever push a PC and the VX550 holds strong. not bad for a unit priced this low to run almost maxed out and still live to write this review.

Cost-effective SLI power supply

I haven't tried running this with multiple video cards, but it provides more than sufficient power for a single-card system. Sturdy construction, quiet fan.

So far so good.

My corsair 550W is about 100W more than I need, all the better for performance. I needed it to power a new ATI RADEON HD 4650 for 3D CAD graphics and TV. This PS is quiet, runs very cool and was a no-brainer instalation on my old HP1118x; wire harness is neatly wrapped and easily reached all peripherals and mother board. It was a relief to get this professional product after returning a $30.00 generic 400W PS (which arrived here bent). In my opinion, well worth the extra green.

This power supply works great with not problems so far. It is powering 2 hard drives and 2 disc drives as well as all my other computer components. I would recommend this product.

A smart choice

This has to be one of best power supplys on the market. More connectors than most builders would ever use, very quiet, and very well made. This is not your run of the mill twehty dollar tin box with round about voltages. The only con I can thik of is a couple too many modular connectors and the sata connectors are a bit to close together. The wire ties are a big plus.

Excellent Choice

You do not need a vibration dampner with this unit. It is everything Corsair represents it to be, maybe better.

Love it

Everything worked out great with this psu, i used it for upgrading my hp with a new motherboard, case and graphics card and it did what it was suppsoed to. I have yet to overclock much of anything but its very quiet and comes with anything you need. I would reccomend this to anyone.

Upgrade for my HP Pavilion

This power supply plugged right in. No problems at all. Plenty of power for new video card. Lots of extra connections for any future upgrades.
