Novint Falcon Game Controller
The Novint Falcon is an entirely new type of game controller. Replacing your mouse or joystick, the Falcon is, essentially, a small robot that lets you experience true virtual touch unlike any controller in history.
The Novint Falcon lets you control a game in three dimensions, and also lets you feel high-fidelity three-dimensional force feedback. The Falcon controller moves right and left, forwards and backwards, like a mouse, but also moves up and down. When you hold the Falcon’s detachable Grip and move your cursor to interact with a virtual object, environment, or character, motors in the device turn on and are updated approximately 1000 times a second, letting you feel texture, shape, weight, dimension, and dynamics. The Falcon lets you control and interact with games in more realistic way, allowing you to develop real physical skill and muscle memory, adding a new dimension to gaming.
Our sense of touch connects us to the world around us and is an integral part of how we experience things, both physically and emotionally. In the past, games have incorporated increasingly sophisticated graphics and sound design, but none have added realistic touch, until now. The award-winning Novint Falcon makes virtual items and experiences feel real. Hold the Falcon’s interchangeable Grip and feel a character’s actions, instead of controlling a game with mouse-clicks and meters. Feel the weight of a basketball as you shoot it towards a hoop -- the momentum and impact as you swing a virtual golf club and strike a ball -- the recoil of a weapon – or the physical characteristics of virtual objects and environments.
In the same way the introduction of sound changed motion pictures, or graphics made the Internet what it is today, Novint's technology transforms the user experience by adding realistic interactive 3D touch to computing. While the concept of interactive touch in computing is as unimaginable to most people as the idea of television was in the age of radio, we envision a not-too-distant future when it is as commonplace and ubiquitous as a mobile phone or a computer mouse.
Novint is pioneering a new category of touch products for the consumer market, beginning with the release of the Falcon. In the past, the cost of 3D touch (haptic) hardware made the technology impractical for consumer applications, but the Falcon performs comparably to commercial devices that cost thousands of dollars, and is designed to be affordable for consumers.

| Novint Falcon Game Controller For the most part, you can say that the keyboard and mouse combination is truly the only way to play a game on the PC. Yes, these two are evidently effective. But what can’t be denied is the fact that they don’t do a lot to really immerse you into a game. With the coming of the Novint Falcon Game Controller however, your perception on game control is about to change. Here we have a gaming device that literally lets you feel and control games. Virtual reality just got more real with the Novint Falcon Game Controller. Count on it to blur the line between what is real and what is virtual even more.
Before anything else, it would be interesting to note that the Novint Falcon Game Controller doesn’t look like any other PC peripheral you’ve ever seen. Describing this apparatus as ‘modern’ is really an understatement. In fact, it looks like it came straight out of a sci-fi game. It is comprised of a big, blunt cone with three articulated arms that all converge on the central ball-shaped grip. A large percentage of its weight can be attributed to the main cone, inside of which an array of motors work to provide three-dimensional force feedback. The device is capable of providing unique sensations of simulated touch depending on what is happening in a game.
The Novint Falcon Game Controller can be used by grasping the ball-shaped grip. It works much like a computer mouse as you can move it right and left, up and down, and forward and backward. Instead of controlling the game by clicking with a mouse, this device allows for a higher level of interactivity with in-game objects, environments, and characters by letting you feel what the game character is feeling. The motors in the device are updated about a thousand times per second, which means that every gun recoil, every surface, every texture is palpable. Using that gravity gun to lift a heavy barrel? You’ll feel the resistance from the three articulated arms. Got hit by one of your enemies? You’ll feel the force from that too. It’s an incredible experience to say the least, and it definitely adds an exciting new dimension to gaming.
Included with the Novint Falcon Game Controller are two packs of mini-games: Newton's Monkey Business and Feelin'It Sports Pack. These games certainly showcase just what this device is capable of. In the archery game, you’ll really feel the increasing resistance as you prepare to release an arrow. In the bowling game, you need to apply the proper amount of force to the controller in order to down all those pins. In the racing game, you’ll feel the grip tighten while taking on all those hairpin curves. These are just some of the games obviously, but if they indicate anything, it is that this device has unlimited potential. You’ll admit that you’ve never felt anything quite like it.

Newbie things Falcon Rocks..
SO how do I get Call of Duty 4 to work with the Falcon? Anyway this thing is awesome, the feel of the bowling ball in your hand, the timing of release is evrything. I bowl the same scores with the Novint as I do in real life! The feel of the golf club when the head contacts the ball, driving games you name it! This is so cool, I can't wait to have multiple 3D controllers and Screens for WoW & CoD5 to name a few. JpE

Absolute MUST HAVE for every gamer!!! The Falcon represents a true paradigm shift for any game. The feedback is so real, it is absolutely amazing and mindblowing. Once you try it, you won't want to live without it and will never go back playing the old way. It also has a high quality and is very rugged. I highly recommend the Falcon to everyone and cant wait to play Left4Dead with it!

This is absolutely amazing. I quickly installed it in my notebook my I finish my dream Media Center System but for some reason that has been sitting there for two days! Everything old is new again. They have made some AAA connections with EA, and ... see I'm too excited. Time to quit my job, throw the rest of my 401k in them, wait while entertaining myself with my Falcon until thay become rockstars.

I've been following the falcon since it was first announced and finally decided to buy one since the price has come down so much, with the amount of technology packed into this thing I can't imagine paying less than this. The forces that it can replicate are unreal, the first time you see an object on the screen and reach out with the Falcon and touch it as if it were a physical object in front of you is eye opening to say the least. Also, Novint has partnered up with some big names lately and there are several games coming out soon like Left 4 Dead, which I'm excited about.
