I finally hacksawed the pins off, went to the hardware store and purchased nylon bolts and nuts with rubber gromments and using that approach the installation went perfectly.

I didn't have any trouble getting it in I just had to use a little muscle. I've had no heat problems and it runs quietly. I would buy this product again

This thing was a complete pain in the butt to install. Do yourself a favor and buy a cooler that screws into your motherboard. I have pretty strong hands, but a day later my thumb is still killing me from the amount of pressure I had to use to push the plastic pins in place. It took me about half an hour to get all four pins to click into place. I was sweating bullets that I was going to crack my motherboard. Now I only hope that the thing stays in place and the plastic pins don't pop off...
