Panasonic Inverter Turbo Defrost technology is an advanced microwave sequencing system using the Inverter low-power delivery.
A pulsing delivery of very low microwave power keeps the temperature of your food at a constant level without overcooking. The improved keep-warm menu now includes five items, so food like stew, gravy and desserts can stay warm in the oven until you are ready to serve. The One-Touch Genius Sensor Cook and Reheat on the Panasonic NN-SD997S Microwave Oven adjusts power levels and calculates cooking times automatically, making reheating and cooking a variety of foods easier than ever. The Menu Action Screen is like having a gourmet chef to assist you in the kitchen. It scrolls step-by-step cooking instructions across the display in a choice of English, Spanish, or French. Our Function Key simplifies the programming of 10 useful, non-cooking functions. Just press the Function Key and the Menu Action Screen will display easy-to-follow steps to complete the desired function. The silver button control panel, illuminated neon blue spin dial and generous 6-digit expanded LED display provide a high-end look and an effortless navigation experience in the kitchen.

Excellent Microwave
By far the best microwave we have had. With 1200 watts of power and 2.2 cft of space, its powerful as well as cavernous, but overall no larger than the 1.5 cft Sharp unit it replaced. The last Panasonic mv we had lasted 15 years, its replacement, the Sharp, only last 5 years. This new unit we hope will hold up as well as our original mv did.

No issues
The microwave is still new, but is performing better than expected. It is easy to learn. The most pleasant surprise is that it is much quieter than the Whirlpool unit that it replaced.
