Separate conductors carry the Y-component (Chrominance) separate from the C-component (Luminance), providing better picture quality than a composite video cable. S-Video cables are commonly used for DVD players, satellite receivers, S-VHS VCRs, camcorders and interface with S-Video equipped televisions. S-Video cables also work with most PCs and notebooks with 7-pin TV-output jacks.

Great buy!
I used this cable to run a line to my flatscreen so I can use it as a third monitor. Other than the fact that the cable seemed extremly difficult to seat into position properly (I've never used s-video anything before so i don't know if that is normal or what) I have had no issues. For the price this is the best product you'll find. For the same length most the ones i saw were double the amount this is.
