Problem with the fit
For some reason when we installed it the case blocks the ports so we can't use them. Not sure how to resolve the problem but we'll keep working on it.

Very Economical for money
However the card did not fit into the slot easily. On the exterior I can only utilize have of the USB slots and one of the firewire because of the bad fit.

Works Great
This card does just what it says it will do. Easy install, works great. Recognized my old sony digital 8 camera and transfers videos to my computer with no problems. Recommend the card to anyone looking for a firewire card.

Had to settle but works great
Since a USB 3.0-Firewire 800 Combo PCI Card doesn't exist, I settled for this. It self installed on my XP SP3 machine in a snap and recognized my old Sony DV through Windows Live Movie Maker as soon as I powered the cam corder on. Transfers video perfectly. Nice!

Exactly as advertised
Did not necessarily need more USB connections (have come in handy since though), but needed the Firewire. Connections to my digital camcorders are not working again (I had to rebuild a system, and lost the firewire on the motherboard). I could have spent more for a dedicated 1394 card, but for the price, and features, this was, and is, a solid investment.

Works as advertised
USB ports on my motherboard were fried from a power surge. Purchased this card as a replacement. OS is XP sp3, and the card self installed and required no drivers, so I now have 4 working USB ports. Had to slightly alter the card's mounting bracket to get a proper fit to my case, but no big deal. Would definitely recommend this product.

Beware, it may not fit into your case
I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing. Like many others, I found that this card doesn't fit into my case. I have a huge older case, not a small form-factor case, but with this card's bracket design the card just does not fully seat into the PCI slot. Even if it had gone in, as others said the horizontal orientation of the ports means they are wider than the opening in the case, so USB and FireWire cables can't fit on. I have years of experience with computers and PCI cards, it's just terribly designed FOR MY CASE. There may be cases that this fits into OK, but read the reviews and beware that your's may not be one of them.

Doesn't work at all
I've installed half a dozen firewire ports, this one baffled me, it doesn't work, and I don't feel like sending it back, it's better off in the garbage can
