I bought this drive because a family member wanted one so I gave them mine. I installed the drive, and everything has worked flawlessly. Dual layer discs, DVD's CD's. I used to have issues with burning a DVD after burning a CD with my old drive. But not with this one. I can convert a 6-700 MB AVI file to DVD and burn it to DVD (Excellent quality) in about 25 minutes. Drive works great. I would recommend it to anyone. |

Well What I thought I was going to get I didn't... at first I thought it was good... bought it to replace an old Lite-on 16x I had and it made nothing but coasters for me... 1 out of 6 worked... not good odds considering that the old one has never made a mistake yet... I'm yanking it out and going back to ol school! |

This is a great buy at this price! I use this with 1Click DVD Copy Pro coupled with dvd43 (to make backup copies of my movies that i own)This drive has burned over 250 dvds with no problems with TDK DVD+R. Still working great. My system is a ECS RX480-A with AMD Athlon 3700+ 939 with 1 gb of ram. (note im getting ready to upgrade all of this.) Tigerdirect is the only place i will buy computer parts now! this kicks butt!!!!! really superb!!!
Downside: make sure you update firmware on this thing right away because i had to go to forums to find out many are having problem loading certain games, one being CRYSIS on this because these drives are getting somewhat old or lite-on doesn't care to update firmware..... |

I know what the others have written and mine started off well too. But then i started to notice that there were little glitches in my movies that i had burned and at first i just thought it was the media(Memorex) but when my other burner got flawless copies and this one started turning out coasters i knew that it was the drive. I contacted Lite-On and have never gotten a response! Other than turnig out coasters it works well! |
