Good burner, mediocre software
The Cyberlink software included with this burner is not worth the premium on the price. There is freeware available which is better. That said, the burner works well and fast.

Software Lacking
The hardware itself is spectacular. The value received from LG is truly second to none. The drive plugged into the system with no issues and fired right up. The only complaint I have is the software included with the drive. They are selling a BluRay drive, but the software included will not burn a bluray disk. If you want that capacity you must upgrade the software for another $40. This has, in effect, crippled the usability of the drive.

Very Fast, Very Quiet!
I replaced my ASUS basic burner with this Blu-Ray burner because the Asus burner made a scratchy sound every time my computer came out of standby. This drive is very quiet. It also burns fast. Big pro with this drive is the amount of software that came with it. Yes, it is true each item is not a full version, but it is very complete and get the job done, and more. Unit came with one free BD-R blank disk. Nice to start with. Very happy with the drive and it works great in Windows 8.
