I have already bought four of these units and am quite satisfied. They look exactly like the one pictured. On the plus side, this heavy 4-drawer Vaultz cabinet is sturdily built and does seem as strong as it looks. It is very convenient to organize CD and DVD discs, with and without jewel cases. Because of its weight, the cabinet is unlikely to tip over -- like cheap all-plastic models would. I have yet to see a competing product of similar quality. On the down side, obviously the drawers are not on rolling sliders (this would have driven up the price significantly), so opening and closing a drawer may require holding the box at times, but that's understandable. Also there was a very faint glue-type smell with the drawers open, but it never bothered me. |

When it arrived I expected much less. However when I opened the box, I was thrilled to see that the product actually exceeded my expectations. All surfaces were black, simulated, graphite-epoxy composite look, with stainless-steal edgeing, with chrome hw accents. This give the cabinet a real hi-tech look. Drawers fit OK. No smell. Looks good next to my black monitor, speakers and kybd. |
First 2 were nice, 3rd wasn't.

I bought 2 of these several years ago and loved them. Then I decided I needed another and it was a no-brainer choice to stick with Vaultz. The 3rd one I bought was a bit different than the first 2. The drawers have removable dividers which takes up quite a lot of space, considering how tight it is to begin with, and make it more difficult to fit the sleeves in when the drawer is full. Bad idea. I hope they've changed it by now and the next one I buy will be back to its original design.
I should mention that I don't use the Vaultz sleeves since they're cardboard and with multiple removing and replacing of discs shows more scratches than using plastic ones. |
