Targus ExpressCard Docking Station with Digital Video and Audio
The Targus ExpressCard™ Notebook Docking Station with Digital Video and Audio has a number of features to maximize the capabilities of your workstation. The new ExpressCard™ technology provides a high-speed interface and has the capability to transfer data up to 5 gigabits a second (Five times faster than typical USB 2.0 docking stations). It also includes digital video and audio connections. Two high-speed, “Always On” USB power ports remain powered when the notebook is OFF or disconnected making this function ideal for recharging mice, phones and other devices. Featuring three video modes, this docking station enables the user to set their external monitor as their primary display, simultaneously use both the notebook screen and external monitor for combined viewing or replicate the notebook screen onto their external monitor. Connecting monitors to the docking station is easy, simply plug the monitor directly into the device; no other cables are needed. The ExpressCard™ docking station provides advantages over proprietary OEM ones by offering universal compatibility with a variety of notebooks with an ExpressCard™ slot.

I run two 2 24 inch HD wide screens and my laptop display making 3 screens total to create a great extended desktop development display. I use the docking station for one display, my laptop vga port for the next and my laptop screen for the third. I created hardware profiles for home and office with the docking station and I can boot from either very quickly. I love it. It is like having a super wide screen display! |

No problems with this product. Running Dell Vostro 1520 with XP Pro installed. Have a 22 inch VGA monitor, wireless keyboard and mouse, speakers and mic, gigabit network, all plugged into the docking station. Just plug it into my express card slot on the laptop and I'm read to rock. |

Don't buy this device. It does not work. I tried it on 5 different laptops and it did not work on any of them. |

I purchased this unit 6 months ago. I am using Vista. I have been able to use the Gigabit port and lots of USB ports. I bought the product for the Gigabit port and the DVI monitor output. The software and Targus support are so poor, that I do not use this product. |

This product does not seem to work with Windows Vista. I could not get the integrated sound working, after reinstalling the driver several times. The control panel that the driver installed would not run correctly. I had high hopes, b/c I really want a docking station with DVI output. In addition to the problems with sound though, the DVI output is relatively low quality. Targus states in their documentation that they do not recommend watching DVDs on a monitor connected to the docking station at higher resolutions. Enough said. |
