Great quick external drive for backups
I originally bought the drive as a way to back up my RAID system for my business. It's a great little drive that's quick and whisper quiet at a decent price. My Netgear ReadyNAS didn't care for it much plugged into it's USB port. As it's an older NAS, I believe that was the issue. Connected to my workstation I'm able to back up the entire RAID in one pass via my network and then store this backup in my safe once a month. RAID is great, but having a backup of it gives that extra level of security that a small business of mine needs.

Great Product at a Great Price!
I have been looking for extra external hard disk drive storage, primarily for backups. In my nearly 20 years computer experience, I have found this company makes highly reliable devices, with great programs of their own for backing up crucial documents and valuable pictures and videos. The 3 TeraBytes External Hard Drive at USB 3.0 speed was perfect. You topped this off with an excellent buy and superior delivery. All this and at the right storage range I needed. Thanks, you guys are great.

So far, so good
I burn tested the drive as soon as I got it by doing a full format, full error check, another full format, and one more full error check. It took about 20 hours but it passed with flying colors.

Good Drive
I had been looking for an external HD and found this one for a great price. Hooked right up and it runs smoothly. I will most likely be buying another one of these. Can't beat the performance this one has had and a great price to boot.

Good desktop storage
This is a nice drive for a desktop. I have this for storage and a 120GB SSD in my desktop for the OS. More space than I'll need, but I suppose more is better than less. Got it for $100 after rebate. It is fairly large.... but still easy enough to carry around if you need to. I wouldn't use it for regular transport. It has external power, so that's another cord to deal with. Not a problem if it's mostly stationary. And as others said, a power switch would be nice, but... it's not THAT big of a deal. I use it as my main storage anyway so it's always on. Girlfriend also has two of these that she uses to backup that she has had for several years and carries around more than I do. They still work great for their purpose. So... that's three of these drives I know of that do their job. I haven't had a Seagate drive fail on me yet, so I guess I can't complain.

Just works!
I am running Windows 7 Professional 64 on a USB 2.0 computer, and I desperately needed to upgrade my backup capability. After much reading and analysis, I ordered one of these babies for $129.97 plus s+h. (I wish I could have afforded 2 of them!) When I got it (just two days later!), I just plugged in the USB and power cables, and Windows automatically recognized it. Then I was ready to roll. I partitioned it into 3 smaller drives, and then did a full system backup. It took about half the time I'm used to. I'm not sure what the reason is, but not complaining. Great drive at a fantastic price,

Good Size, Good Price
I intended to buy one and still will when they go on sale, but they were sold out, but I gave it 5 Stars because my other 2 internal Seagate HDD's deserved 5 stars, hopefully this one will too. GE sells a plug-in, 2 bladed, non grounded AC switch that can be plugged in between the Seagate and the wall socket and the Seagate can be turned off that way.

Works as Expected
I am running 3 pc's with win 7 64 bit installed. All bios and drivers are up to date. This Drive worked right out of the box. It is recognized as 3 TB (2.7 TB) MBR NTFS drive. Windows Image backup and File backup both work. I did not have to format or change anything on the drive. Just plug it in and it works. I do not know why other reviewers are having issue.
