i have had this writer for about a year and for some reason the other day i tryed to burn a movie and it stopped reading any disc at all and now all i hear is a bunch of clicking. I paid to have this one installed because my kids stripped the gears out of the original one so i didn't get to choose ya know ,so i think it sucks. It would read some blank disc and some wouldn't read at all before it stopped working.It would write some dvds fine then others would get a disc writing error and have to waste all kinds of dvds. When i get this one replaced I'm telling the installer not to choose a burner from liteon. |

Good burner, good value. I really liked the fact that it is sata instead of pata which is basically obsolete. The software that came with it works, not the latest version though. One of the few burners that comes with an extra face plate so that you change if if you need to. |

This is a solid drive for the price. I used it in a new build with Vista 64 and it was recognized immediately. I am using Media Center to play DVDs, so no bundled software was needed. |

The bundled software is missing the audio drivers for dvd playback. In order to recieve the drivers, they must be purchased through the Nero website. I wouldnt have bought this if I knew this was the case. Cds play fine and everything else works fine. I rated a 2 on performance due to this setback. |
