Headache
I'm about to send my second unit back to Trendnet. On the first, the keyboard part stopped working. On the second, the keyboard failed, but resetting the unit fixed that part. But one of my laptops keeps losing track of the external monitor, so it flashes and resets constantly. I've swapped cables, so I believe it's the port. When it works, it's great. When it doesn't, well, you know.

OK for Windows OS. Not OK for Linux OS.
I returned this item because it did not perform keyboard hot-switching within Linux OS with any of multiple keyboards that I used. Outside of that issue, the device appeared to work properly in all other respects and would appear to be adequate to the task when working exclusively with Windows OS.

Good Value, Works OK
Works with Win 7, SBS 2003 and XP. Does not have keyboard emulation, so inactive machines don't see a keyboard. My Win 7 machine beeps as the keyboard is attached each time it is made active. My server hangs with a No Keyboard Connected message when I boot it unless I make it active during boot up. If I change the BIOS to not check for keyboard, it doesn't load USB keyboard support so there is no keyboard after it boots. It boots fine if it is the active display while booting. Not a deal breaker, but a pain.

Great product
I'm currently using my TK407K with a LCD monitor (VGA Cable) and a ''Easy Call'' wireless combined KB, Mouse and speaker system. I currently have it hooked to a Windows-XP system, A Mini-MAC, and an UBUNTU Lynix system. Because the wireless KB system has only one USB cable I only hook in that one into the KB input port on the KVM switch -- I haven't tried using the mouse port but I'd assume that it'd work with either port. With this setup, everything switches fine between systems. My unused port I am leaving open as a test port for other computers. The main reason for this review is I was unsure the wireless KB system would work but it does and it works great. The Mini-MAC has an adapter to use the VGA input.

Good base line product
I bought this KVM for use with my consulting and just expected basic use. It has no hot keys or usb ports for use with a flash drive but I am happy with the preformace. No issues so far in the first month. FYI: Pick up item number A75-2134 & T156-2354 for a solutions to power and web access for the PCs you will use with this KVM.

Not a bad Device
This little device is a pretty good one except for being USB 1.1. I have had this KVM switch for a couple of weeks and have already had to reset all my computers. It does not have a good memory or programmable keyboard controls like I have seen on other devices. OVERALL... You get what you pay for.. Buy cheap and get cheap.

Cheap solution, but doesn't last
It worked great at first, but within 6 months of buying it, I started to have a problem where the keyboard & mouse would not register. I would have to disconnect the USB from all 4 computers, wait, and then plug it back in. It got to the point that I would leave the USB unplugged from all but the most frequently used computer. Then the video started going. It would sometimes fail to display video when switched to one computer or another. As of today, no video will show through the KVM. I'm going to try to find a better quality KVM, even though I'll have to pay double the price.

Great Problem Solver!
Being a small business requires me to watch every penny. I recently added a third server to my two existing servers. Due to space constraints they are in what was originally our kitchen pantry on some work shelves. Barely room for the 3 servers, much less keyboards, mice and monitors for each. Found the TRENDnet 4-port USB KVM and thought for $25 how I can go wrong. The included cables make connecting and setup SOOO very easy and the end result: My 3 servers are comfy and my available space is preserved with just one keyboard, mouse and monitor. This is a wonderful, simple tool that just works!
