Oh Yeah !!!

I just ordered 2 of them. I always used Raptors for my Raid 0 Array. I wouldn't consider anything else for the price & reliability. I know fast & large capacity SSD's are still too expensive & you need to be careful how you treat them. From what I've read you cant defrag an SSD without loosing life expectancy. I just don't like that thought. At this price I just could not say no,& yes the 5 year warranty is awesome. I've had 2 150GB Raptors in Raid 0 for almost 5 years now,was happy to see them in 1 TB each. I'm not fearful at all using them in Raid 0. I've had no problems at all. Way to go for good reliable performance.

fast and expensive, like a ferrari

i installed a pair of these in a raid set, they come close to loading speed of the ssd's i have tested, without the ssd's data loss problems, my only gripe is the huge heatsink, you cannot remove it to use these in a laptop without voiding the warranty..

Gets the job done

May be a little expensive, but needed for C-drive for your operating system, the hard drive is the slowest piece of hardware. So 10,000 rpm is the only way to go.

Another Strong Showing from WD

This is the second VelociRaptor I have purchased. The first being the previous generation's 600GB model. I absolutely love these things as an alternative to both 7200 RPM drives and SSDs. I needed a dedicated drive for my Steam games and was contemplating going with a 900GB SSD or two 500GB SSDs in a RAID. Then I managed to catch this drive on sale for around $200.00. At that price, and with WD's awesome 5-year warranty, I couldn't pass it up. I was considering going with a 2TB or 3TB Caviar Black, but I just can't say no to that sweet, sweet, 10k RPM rating.

Great Drive

It works and is more quiet than I expected. The heat-sink like design on the edges catches the fan air and helps keep it nice and cool. My Windows 7 performance rating raised 1 point to 6.9. Awesome hard drive that looks as good as it runs.

Its fast 10k rpm :) but abit pricey. Got it on sale for 200 $ before tax.

Works well. Easy install. Pricey.

Quick and easy install as with all hard drives. Seems extremely well built. Notice increased speed in loading programs but I should have done transfer speed tests both before and after. However, I am disappointed in the Windows Performance Test. It has the exact same reading as before installing the drive, 5.9, which is my lowest score in the system. I also installed a new SATA 3.0 card and got the same results. Can't justify cost to performance.

awesome drive

Fast drive and easy install. If time is a factor for you this is the drive to have. Performance justifies the cost.

Fast, albeit pricey

It's a very fast drive, but it's pricey and based on my experience with hybrid drives, would benefit from SSD cache. In some cases the hybrid drives are still faster, actually.

Good Fast Drive

Drive works well and was easy to install. Speed is good, but was expecting a little quicker response. Debated on a solid state drive, but size not available and cost higher than this drive. I've switched to Windows 7 so this may be part of the response difference. After boot up, it works great. Photoshop CS6 is up in about 10 seconds now.
