Cisco SRW2008 8-port Gigabit Switch
The Cisco SRW2008 8-port Gigabit Switch with Webview fully managed switch brings gigabit speeds to your users, while adding a whole new level of intelligence and security to network. The eight 10/100/1000 Mbps ports enable you take advantage of the Gigabit Ethernet interfaces shipping on the current generation of servers, workstations and storage devices, in addition to supporting existing 10/100 Mbps clients. The optional mini-GBIC ports allow you to expand network as your business grows.
For security, the SRW2008 incorporates IEEE 802.1 VLANs, IEEE 802.1X port authentication and MAC-based Filtering. Along with that, the switch has Access Control Lists (ACL), which provide more granular security settings, but also improved QoS control through IEEE 802.1p, Diffserv or ToS prioritization schemes. The enhanced QoS capability, combined with the SRW2008’s advanced traffic management features ensures clear and reliable voice and video communications.
Linksys' WebView provides an intuitive, secure management interface enabling you to better utilize the comprehensive feature-set of the SRW2008, resulting in a better optimized, more secure network.

I purchased two of these for a client's network that I was revamping back in Oct '08. With little effort these were setup and working. The web UI for the switch is just like the one for other Linksys routers, easy and straight-forward to use and setup. The client has recognized a significant performance increase with no downtime since setup. I would highly recommend this product for any small business looking to improve their network stability and performance. |

I've had this switch for about a year and it hasn't given me one issue yet. I have 2 PoE AP's connected and 2 Servers (Redhat & WIN2k3) with Gig NIC cards. As for my workgroup; they connect with wireless-N to the APs (all Linksys) and the file sharing\tranfering is lightning fast (approx 300Mbps). In regards to the previous reviewer; I use IE7 to access the web interface and also have Telnet access. Not sure if maybe you need to ugrade your firmware? |

The SRW2008 firmware is junk. It only supports Internet Explorer 5.5 for web setup and control. Most useful features are only accessible via the web interface (not Telnet, nor SSH). It does not attempt to support any modern web standards, yet boasts about its ''WebView'' interface. Firefox 2 gives a mostly blank page and cannot do a single thing!
This product is useless to Linux, Unix and Mac users and should be avoided unless you really love IE.
